Christie McConnell, Vice President, Development

Christie McConnell was name Vice President, Development, Shine America in August 2012.

McConnell is responsible for leading the creation and development of original unscripted content for television docu-series, competitive game show and special event series.

Prior to joining Shine America in August 2012, McConnell served as Vice President, Development, for Stephen David Entertainment. In that role, McConnell spearheaded development on all series and specials for the production company. Her credits include TLC’s Extreme Cheapskates, History’s event series The Men Who Built America and I.D.’s RedRum. McConnell has also developed and sold projects to Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, Sundance Channel and Military Channel, among others.

Before Stephen David Entertainment, McConnell was a development executive at Notional, where she oversaw casting and developed formats and content for several cable networks and brands including Bravo, Travel Channel, Food Network and Proctor & Gamble.

McConnell began her career in development at City Lights Media, where she quickly rose up the ranks in the television and the digital space, overseeing the digital and branded entertainment department. She was responsible for the Emmy Award-winning digital series Book Obsessed and the Webby Award-nominated Hot Coffee Break and The List.

McConnell received her Bachelor’s degree with honors from Ohio Northern University. She double-majored in Communications and English Literature.
