Michael Brooks was named Senior Vice President, Unscripted Programming for Shine America in June 2014.

Brooks, who was formerly Senior Vice President, Entertainment Programming & Development at BBC Worldwide Productions and Adjacent Productions, will manage current production on many of the company's unscripted series.

Brooks formerly oversaw the Unscripted Entertainment Programming and Development team at BBC Worldwide Productions and Adjacent Productions. Brooks and his team worked with producers and rights holders at the BBC, the UK’s independent production community, and talent in the U.S. to develop new programming and reformats for U.S. cable and broadcast networks.

Brooks joined BBC Worldwide Productions in 2010 and developed and produced various titles including Top Gear (History), Breaking Pointe (CW), Ladies of London for Bravo, Vanderbilt MDs for USA network, Mud, Sweat & Gears for BBC America and BBC Global Channels and Lives on Fire (OWN).

Prior to joining BBC Worldwide Productions, Brooks produced five seasons of BBC Worldwide Production’s hit reality-competition series Dancing with the Stars and was part of the team that launched the show in the U.S.

Brooks also served as Co-Executive Producer across the UK celebrity reality hit I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

Brooks began his television production career in Australia, where he produced a number of successful entertainment and reality shows including the launch of Dancing with the Stars (AUS) for ITV Studios and the Seven Network. Brooks also spent four years at the Nine Network Australia producing and developing numerous titles including Australia’s Funniest Home Videos.
