Chris Culvenor, Senior Vice President, Development 

Chris Culvenor was named as Senior Vice President, Development for Shine America in August 2012

Culvenor, who joined the company from Shine Australia, oversees day-to-day unscripted development at Shine America including Restaurant Startup (CNBC) and Fake-Off (TruTV)

Previously at Shine Australia, Culvenor oversaw development and the sale of Shine Australia’s television programs across all genres. He also managed third party creative relationships both domestically and internationally, acquired and sold third party formats and created, implemented and managed the company’s development strategy.

During Culvenor’s time at Shine Australia, the company successfully launched Australian formats of such series as MasterChef, The Biggest Loser, The Voice, Wag Nation, The Shire, Australia’s Next Top Model, Minute to Win It, The Renovators and Dating in the Dark.

Prior to joining Shine Australia, Culvenor served as Director of Digital Media and Alternative Programming for FremantleMedia Australia. In his role, he created and managed the digital media department and oversaw the company’s digital media strategy and business development.

He was also responsible for the acquisition and sale of The Apprentice Australia and created and executive produced The Myspace Road Tour, Dance Backstage, Idol Backstage, The Movie Show and Nerd News.

Before FremantleMedia, Culvenor served in both director and producer positions for Insight Productions Canada, where he worked on series such as Canadian Idol.

Culvenor began his career in 2004 as an Associate Producer at Grundy Television Australia.

Culvenor received his Bachelor of Visual Communications with Honors from The University of Technology, Sydney. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
