Audrey Chon Named Vice President Scripted Television At Shine America

January 9, 2014 – Audrey Chon has been named Vice President, Scripted Television at Shine America, it was announced today by Carolyn Bernstein, Executive Vice President, Scripted Television at Shine America. 

Chon, who joins Shine America from Good Universe, will be involved in all aspects of scripted programming for the Los Angeles-based production company that’s currently behind FX’s “The Bridge” and Fox’s upcoming drama series “Gracepoint.”

“Audrey’s impressive and varied experience in features, coupled with her excellent relationships in the creative community, make her a dream addition to our team as we continue to build out our scripted slate here at Shine America,” says Bernstein. 

Chon added, "I am thrilled to be joining Shine America at such an exciting time for the company. I have tremendous respect for Carolyn and Rich (Ross) and look forward to joining the team."

Chon, who has been with Good Universe since 2011, oversaw production and development for the film production company and most recently produced MGM and Fox 2000's upcoming remake of "Poltergeist."

Prior to that, Chon served as Director of Development for Chernin Entertainment at the inception of the company and helped solidify Chernin’s interest in book-to-film adaptations.  During that time, Chon was involved in such projects as the adaptation of the best-selling YA novel "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," which will be directed by Tim Burton, and Fox's re-telling of the Moses story, "Exodus."

Chon began her career as assistant at Imagine Entertainment, where Brian Grazer promoted her to an executive after playing a vital role in the film, "The Changeling," directed by Clint Eastwood.

Chon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles.
