NBC and Shine America's hit series The Biggest Loser returns for its 14th season this week and its joining forces with some of the nation's leading brands to help Challenge America to get healthy in 2013.

General Mills, Brita® Water Filters, Planet Fitness, SUBWAY®, Jennie-O® and Walgreens have all signed on as integration partners for the upcoming season and they are also joining “The Biggest Loser’s” Challenge America initiative, a season-long drive that will give viewers weight loss tools never before offered on www.biggestloser.com to become their own Biggest Loser at home.

Additionally, Seventeen Magazine and NFL PLAY 60, the NFL’s youth health and fitness campaign, are onboard as promotional partners aiming to get both teens and children focused on incorporating healthier activities into their daily lives.

Set to return Sunday, January 6 (9-11 p.m. ET/PT) and Monday, January 7 (8-10 p.m. ET/PT) on NBC, The Biggest Loser is tackling the nation’s childhood obesity epidemic head on by featuring kid participants in addition to adult contestants for the first time ever on the show. This season will also feature the return of new mom Jillian Michaels, who rejoins trainers Bob Harper and Dolvett Quince and show host Alison Sweeney.

“This is setting up to be a very important season of The Biggest Loser as the show tackles childhood obesity for the first time and looks to Challenge America to get healthy alongside our contestants,” says Vivi Zigler, President, Shine 360º & Digital, Shine America. “We are thrilled that all of these leading brands have joined forces with ‘The Biggest Loser’ in our on-going efforts to fight obesity in this country.”

As part of The Biggest Loser’s Challenge America initiative, each episode this season will be dedicated to overcoming one of the leading causes of childhood obesity. Weekly themes include “Get Moving,” “Cut The Junk” and “Eat Right on a Budget.” Viewers at home will able to participate as well, by going to www.biggestloser.com, where registered members can unlock the secrets of The Biggest Loser Ranch and have access to recipes, workout tips from the show, weight loss trackers, community challenges, sweepstakes and more.

Recognizing the seamless integration opportunities, brands have chosen to highlight their products on The Biggest Loser ever since the show first premiered in 2004, with SUBWAY® and Jennie-O joining the show in season 3, Brita® Water Filters in season 5 and General Mills in season 7. Last season, and again this year, Planet Fitness has provided “The Biggest Loser” gym, and contestants will continue to train after their stay on the show at Planet Fitness gyms in their hometowns. Also returning as a show partner this season is Walgreens and its Way to Well Commitment™, a four-year, $100 million health initiative focused on improving the everyday health of America through the prevention and early detection of today's leading diseases.

Throughout the 14 seasons of the show, NFL PLAY 60 player ambassadors have inspired show contestants, and this season the San Diego Chargers’ Antonio Gates appears on night 2, airing January 7 (8-10 pm ET/PT). Previous NFL players have included Jerry Rice, Kurt Warner, Clay Matthews, Tim Tebow, Shawn Merriman, Eric Dickerson and Drew Brees.

For the first time ever, Seventeen Magazine partners with The Biggest Loser to help teens everywhere stop obsessing about what their bodies look like and start appreciating all the amazing things their bodies can do.  Through Seventeen's groundbreaking Body Peace Project, a massive campaign to promote positive body image, the teens learn how to have a better relationship with their bodies—at any size.

The Biggest Loser is a production of Shine America, 25/7 Productions and 3 Ball Productions. Ben Silverman, Dave Broome, Todd Lubin, Lisa Hennessy, Eden Gaha, Paul Franklin, JD Roth and Todd A. Nelson are the executive producers.
